Hey! Here's a chance for kids to have fun, laugh, tell stories, and act really silly! Oh, yeah, and of course they'll also learn something, too! These workshops can target specific grade levels or a specific group such as Gifted and Talented Drama or Music students.

"Stories with a TWIST" workshops are for groups of up to 20 students each.

Student Workshops available:

1. Storytelling - students learn about the art of storytelling, then try out their own storytelling styles.
2. Acting - students learn about stage directions, voice projection, body movements and basic presentation styles.
3. Public Speaking/Forensics - students learn some simple strategies about how to present a prepared reading or speech for a classroom assignment or judged event.
4. Writing - students will learn fun ways to create story ideas and how to get these ideas down on paper.

*The SuperDay Special student workshop is for up to fifteen selected students who will work with Barb for an hour. They will learn some songs, movements and stage directions that will be used during the family evening event. (The cost of this workshop is included in the SuperDay Special price!)

Teachers (and principals, too) will also learn new ways to involve students, fellow teachers, parents, and even the classroom pets in classroom and school-wide storytelling events. Can teachers have too much fun with literacy? Well, Barb will give it a shot with her wild and wacky "Laugh While You Learn" In-Service workshops. These high-energy sessions are packed with tons of ideas, hands-on activities, make-it-take-it materials and wild and wacky fun! (And singing will be involved!) Barb uses motivational activities that stress all the different learning styles! Prices include all materials and hand-outs - and there are a BUNCH! These in-service sessions have been well received all over the state - and a group in Rhode Island really liked it, too!

Barb's In-Service workshops run from 2-5 hours and are available for teachers of specific grade levels, the entire school staff, or school division in-service sessions.
