This hardcover book
started with the artwork instead of
the story! All the pictures in Jambo,
Watoto! are actually full-sized prints
done by artist, Marsha Heatwole. Then
Barb and her sister wrote the text
to connect all the pictures into a
story! It's about four baby cheetahs
who are left in the tall grass by
the watering hole while their mama
goes off to hunt for the day. They
meet up with many strange and interesting
animals who come to the watering hole
for a cool drink. Each animal greets
the baby cheetahs saying, "Jambo,
Watoto!" which is Swahili for
"Hello, Children!" Each
book can be autographed and inscribed
with a special name.
